17: bits of bernal

Today I wanted to start a little series called " Bits Of Bernal". Ever since we moved out of downtown and to the much quieter neighborhood of Bernal Heights I have wanted to do this. Bernal is a wonderful little community of mostly families. It's slow paced and sleepy compared to most places in the city. The main drag is lined with small shops, a wonderful local grocery, bars, and a beautiful Library. One of my favorite shops to get lost in is Succulence. Part plant shop, part novelty, it's one of my favorites on the block. The staff is unbelievable helpful. I tend to get lost in the place for no reason at all. Between the large selection of books, plants, housewares, and even soap, it's so impeccably curated. One of the best things about this place is you can build your own terrarium on site. The have a special workshop in the back of the store filled with rocks, moss, and other supplies to build yourself anything your imagination will come up with. It's a true little gem.
