12: teenage dreams

Last night a major teenage dream of mine came true. I finally saw Jenny Lewis live at The Fox Theater in Oakland. After never actually getting to see Rilo Kiley tour, I had thought I would never actually see her or hear some of my favorites live. After hearing Rilo Kiley back in 2003 for the first time I was obsessed till the end. It was amazing finally being able to sing my heart out with my friends and husband like teenagers. Being able to hear A Better Son/Daughter was definitely the highlight of the night for me. I can't tell you how many times I cried listening to that song when I was 17. Jenny was great last night. Crotch grabs, wine drinking, airbrushed pants suit, and an amazing heart felt set.

So in ode to last night, I'm spending the day listening to everything in my collection from both. It's not quite complete yet, but I've almost got my hands on everything. I would have to say More Adventurous is my top pick, with Acid Tongue in a close second. The Voyager is really growing on me, but damn I wish I could have gotten my hands on that Voyager wine. Thanks to my husband who goes out of his way to find me things like this.
