There is something so perfect about waking up to the sound of vinyl. The process itself being slightly ritualistic. Like making a cup of coffee in the morning, one single cup at a time. I’m going to be starting a weekly feature about what music I love to spin while at home.

Records in our house is a somewhat new thing. About four years ago, before getting married I bought my husband his first vinyl. I’m not 100% sure what the reasoning behind it was, seeing as that we didn’t even own a record player. After picking up a few more over the next year or so, we finally got our first one for Christmas.

Ever since then, my husband has been a record buying crazy man. Granted his passion for music is quite high. I however, tend to buy much less, but get to reap the benefits of his obsession.
Today’s Record Is CASPIAN: Waking Season. This record is one of those that is perfect to wake up to. Each song itself feels like a dawning day. Filled with emotion so perfectly laid out. It builds you up into such a euphoric feeling, then slowing setting you back down for the next song to wash over you, just like the first. The sound is soft and sweet, while still warranting your attention at every turn. Lyric less, it still somehow captivates you like a hard sung ballad. Definitely one of my favorites at the moment. Can’t say it isn’t aesthetically pleasing either. What a beautiful record.
